As an attorney, Raymond served with the New York City Bar's Committee on Drugs and the Law from 2009 -2016, studying the international frameworks underlying worldwide drug control and the criminalization of private drug use. This research involved personal interviews with numerous world dignitaries from Supreme Court Justices to Drug Czars to Ambassadors, as well as two visits to the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna, Austria.  The work culminated with the committee's publication of "Charting A Wiser Course" at the 2016 United Nations General Assembly Special Session on Drugs in New York.  Yet the committee's publication detailing the legal realities dictated by the current paradigm was just the beginning of the journey for Raymond.  

Chance encounters at the 56th and 57th Sessions of the United Nations' Commission on Narcotic Drugs brought Raymond into the middle of a movement to advance the very framework of Human Rights Law itself, eventually leading to the creation of the novel 'In Search of the Return', as well as the publication of 'One Human Right' and "A Framework for a Free Humanity', the genesis of which is detailed in the pages of the novel.  

Raymond has worked in various legal areas, including real estate, business formation, and civil litigation, but his primary focus has been on defending the accused in the criminal context from the beginning.  It is the intersection of Raymond's varied experiences which give life and substance to the magic that is revealed inside the world of his novel.
